Observations

placeholder

The Child Care Center in Turner 163, which serves preschool children ages 3-5, has an observation booth, equipped with audio headphones. The booth allows 5 observers at a time to view children's play and development without disturbing classroom routines. Illinois State University professors may request a full week of hourly observation times for students in an academic class related to early care and education or child and family studies. Professors are responsible for scheduling student observations according to the Center guidelines provided by the Director.

On a limited basis, the Child Care Center allows students, professors and small tour groups (6 people or less) to schedule an observation visit to view children's activities, through the observation booth. Larger groups may be given a brief walk-through tour upon request. Observation visits may be scheduled for a full hour between 8:00 am - 9:00 am, 10:00 am - 11:00 am or as time allows in the afternoon.
