Arrival and Families Greeted - 7:30 - 9:45 a.m.
Children place personal items in cubbies upon arrival and wash hands. Self-chosen solitary or small group play within indoor and outdoor learning centers. An outdoor playtime is included during warmer weather.

Morning Meeting - 9:45 - 10 a.m.
Children and teachers discuss ideas and plans for that day’s activities. Discussion usually centers on the current project topic, including completed and ongoing activities.

Open Snack - 10 - 10:35 a.m.
Children wash hands and, when hungry, eat nutritious foods in a relaxed self-serve style.

10 - 11:35 a.m. - Project work / Activity Choices / Outdoor Play
Children explore activities in the indoor and outdoor learning environment. These activities may include: art, science, math, dramatic play, language arts (including listening, speaking, reading and writing activities), creative movement, sensory play, cooking, block play, table games, and outdoor play. Visiting experts on project topics and walks to campus sights also occur during this time period.

Music - 11:35 - 11:50 a.m.
Children participate in a variety of music activities including singing, chanting, dancing. Transition to washing hands for lunch.

Lunch - 11:50 a.m. - 12:40 p.m.
Children eat in small table groups headed by a teacher to promote conversation, language development, social skills and self-help skills at a family style meal experience. Each table leisurely reviews the morning’s experiences sharing stories or discussing topics of interest. A record of the morning’s experiences is posted on the daily highlights available to parents to review at the end of the day.

Toileting, hand washing and brushing teeth - 12:40 - 1 p.m.
Transition activities to rest and naptime includes story reading (group or individual), play in areas and once a week movie based on appropriate children’s literature.

Rest and Naptime - 1 - 2:30 p.m.
Calm music plays while children settle down to rest and/or sleep. Early risers participate in quiet play.

Gradual wake up / Activity choices / Outdoor play - 2:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Children wake up gradually from nap, toilet, and participate in self-selected activities in art, science, math, dramatic play, language arts (including listening, speaking, reading and writing activities), creative movement, sensory play, block play, table games, outdoor play. Families are greeted upon pickup and information from a child’s day is shared.
