Child Care Center in Turner 163, which serves
children age 3-5, has an observation booth, equipped
with audio headphones and a two-way window. The
booth allows 6 observers at a time to view children's
play and development without disturbing classroom
On a limited basis, the Child Care Center
allows students, professors and small tour
groups (6 people or less) to schedule an observation
visit to view children's activities.
Larger groups may be given a brief walk-through
tour upon request.
Observation visits usually range from one
to two hours in the morning before noon or
from 3 p.m. to closing time.
Illinois State University professors may
request a full week of hourly observation
times for students in an academic class related
to early care and education or child and family
Professors are responsible for scheduling
student observations according to the Center
guidelines provided by the Director.
All observers must present a photo identification
card prior to entering the child care facility
and comply with the observation policies of
the Child Care Center.
Because observation times are in high demand,
it is best to schedule visits at least one
month in advance.
Observations visits or week long observation
reservations may be scheduled by contacting
the director at email@example.com.
