Games & Manipulatives Area
A variety of board games and table toys (often
called manipulatives) are located in the game
area.
Children learn a variety of skills in the game
area, such as cooperating, enjoying time with
friends, taking turns and learning to follow game
rules. Manipulatives, such as stringing
beads and Lincoln Logs, help children develop fine
muscle control and coordination. They encourage
creativity and industriousness, too.

Game area storage shelving helps children learn
how to care for and organize play and learning
materials.
